Back After A Break

On Monday, we spent time reconnecting as a team by interviewing each other about our Spring Breaks! We had friends stay in town, travel to other states, travel to other countries and even a friend that travelled to another continent! What a great way to review geography!

Equivalent Fractions

We continued exploring strategies to find equivalent fractions!  So far, we have learned how to make fraction strips, use a number line, draw a fraction model, and use multiplication or division to find equivalent fractions!  The class really enjoys teaching each other their favorite strategies!

Character Mini-Debate

This class is really enjoying the political debate-season, so we capitalized on the interest by planning a mini-debate.  I asked the class to vote on the topic related to our two characters from our read aloud.  They voted on a debate focused on which character is a better friend.  Students gathered evidence to support their claims and we held the first part of the debate today!  It was a huge success!

Dr. Seuss Day!

We celebrated with an all school PJ day! Also, the Cat in the Hat came to read with a special snack!
The cat in the hat left our class with a message about reading with adults! Reading with adults is a wonderful, fun thing to do! Even though we are all good readers, the adult can read aloud a book that would be too challenging to read independently.  Yes, the cat in the hat reminded the class independent reading time is crucial, but reading with an adult is a great way to become an even better reader!!!
